Menu update !!

OK - So, I have become lazy about updating my menu - suffice it to say, I have cereal or oatmeal most mornings. Usually one day a week I have 2 eggs, turkey sausage and 1 slice of wheat toast, a little treat. All days have juice and some have some fruit.

For lunch I typcially have a salad with some topping [chicken, shrimp, tuna salad, etc.] w/a light dressing. I have soup w/cottage cheese and tomatoe about twice a week and every now and then a half sandwich w/small salad.

For dinner, we usually rotate pork chops, chicken, fish, salmon, shrimp, turkey burgers, turkey loin, etc. NO RED MEAT. We have one veggie and a salad or two veggies most nights. Occasionally we throw in a high-fiber legume to mix things up. The main thing about dinner is portions, we try to keep them small and reasonable.

Fo snacks, we stick to sugar free jello or pudding, sugar free fudgesicles, popcorn, yogurt, fresh veggie or fruit.

So having revealed all of this - I am going to stop posting everything I eat every day and will only mention new items or particulary good items when we have them because with past menus and the above, you can get the point.

Oh, and just for the record. We make up our 7 day menu on Saturday night or Sunday morning for the next week and do our grocery shopping for the week.

portion notes

Most snack items are things sold in individual serving sizes, like applesauce, pudding, yogurt, granola bites, etc.

When I am having salad as a meal, I am pretty liberal on lettuce but salad dressing is always light, non-creamy, oil-based. No measurement but as light as possible.

Vegetables and fruits are not really measured, just something that seems like a reasonable portion size.

Cereal, Oatmeal, etc. size based on "one-serving" from box or container.

Meats based on standard one portion size.
